ALSTEAD’S BUDGET

The Alstead Select Board is responsible for preparing our town’s budget. All budgetary requests should be made at a Select Board meeting, Tuesday evening at 5:00 p.m. (The County, School and School Education portion of your tax bill does not fall under the purview of the Alstead Select Board.)

SPECIAL ARTICLES THAT APPEAR ON THE TOWN’S WARRANT

Friday, January 6, 2023 at 4 PM:  Last day for voters to petition the Select Board to include a Town Meeting warrant article proposing a bond governed by RSA 33:8-a [RSA 40:13, II-a(b)].

Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 4:00 PM:   Last day for voters to petition Select Board to include a non-bond Town Meeting warrant article at the Select Board’s office (not the Town Clerk or Police Department).

Petitions require at least 25 signatures from registered Alstead voters; however, it is highly recommended you get at least 30 signatures. The signatures must be legible and appear as they do on the voter checklist. If we cannot read them to verify that they are on the voter checklist, they will not be counted. We suggest that you have signers of the petition print their name next to their signature as well as include their residential address. Wording of articles varies depending on their purpose; however, examples of article wording can be found in previous town reports. The Select Board can also assist you with wording if contacted in time prior to submission.
