TOWN OF ALSTEAD PLANNING BOARD
PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
In accordance with RSA 675:7, the Alstead Planning Board will hold a public hearing on January 5, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at the Alstead Town Hall to consider three proposed zoning amendments for the 2026 Town Meeting ballot:

Amendment No. 1 – Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs): Updates the ordinance to conform with 2025 state law (RSA 674:71-73) by allowing one attached or detached ADU by right on lots with single-family dwellings and adding associated definitions and standards.

Amendment No. 2 – Roadside Farm Stand: Replaces “roadside produce stand for sale of products grown on-premises” with “Roadside Farm Stand” and adds a definition limiting stands to 200 sq ft, requiring a majority of food products, and incorporating the requirements of RSA 21:34-a.

Amendment No. 3 – Off-Street Parking: Brings the ordinance into compliance with the 2025 revision to RSA 674:16, VII, which prohibits municipal zoning ordinances from requiring more than one residential parking space per unit.

Public comment is welcome. Written comments may be sent to the Alstead Planning Board, P.O. Box 60, Alstead, NH 03602. If substantive changes are made, a second hearing will be noticed and held per RSA 675:7.
